Nate Mohler

(Owner/Herbalist)

Dr. Nate Mohler is an acupuncturist and herbalist. He graduated with his Masters in Oriental Medicine from East-West College of Natural Medicine in 2003 and practiced in the State of Florida until 2011 when he moved to Colorado. In 2018 he received his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.

Nate founded his herbal line Shuhari Herbs in 2004 and began with two topical formulas that he initially made to use in his acupuncture clinic in Florida. When he moved to Colorado in 2011, he began to expand this herbal line under Shuhari Health Works which now has over a dozen products. In 2019, after being promoted to the Academic Dean of Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO, he took on a business partner in order to maintain and expand Shuhari Health Works as an herbal medicine manufacturing company.

At Southwest Acupuncture College, aside from his role as the Academic Dean, he teaches curriculum that includes acupuncture and plant medicine. He has, in the past, also been on the faculty of both East-West College of Natural Medicine, in Sarasota, Florida, and the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, Nate is a founding director and the president of the board of directors for the nonprofit organization American Institute of Integrative Herbalism (AIIH). This organization’s mission is to promote the use of  and facilitate the education of bioregional herbal medicine in the practice of Chinese Medicine as well as to protect the ecology in which medicinal plants live.

He has also taught plant medicine both in classroom workshops and in the field on topics of medicine making, phytochemistry, medicinal plant identification, and sustainable wild crafting. In 2016, he completed his first book, A Medicinal Plant Field Guide: Lower Front Range and Colorado High Plains.

In addition to plant medicine and acupuncture, he has studied martial arts since 1990 and holds a Roku Dan (6th Degree) black belt and title of Shihan (master instructor) in Shuri-Ryu Karate-Do. He is also the head instructor for the Shuri-Te Bujutsu- Kai Taijiquan program.
